BAPTISM
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Parents can choose to have the Baptism of their child either during one of that weekend's Masses, after Mass at 12 noon at Strathalbyn or 1 pm at Mount Barker.
There are two preparation sessions for parents in the weeks prior to the Baptism to explore the meaning of Baptism. Parents can book a baptism by completing and submitting the online form, found on the Baptism page. A member of the Baptism Team will then contact you.
RECONCILIATION, CONFIRMATION AND FIRST COMMUNION
The Sacramental program is a family-focused parish-based initiation of children who want to prepare for and participate in the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist. This program takes place between August to June.
An interview is arranged with a member of the Sacramental Team. This is an opportunity to meet with the children and for questions to be asked by them and their families. It also allows the Sacramental Team to prepare the children and their families for the journey they are about to take.
Families are encouraged to participate in this program celebrating the sacraments together with their children.
Workbooks are used for each sacrament and these are completed by the children with the support of their family and the guidance of the Sacramental Team. The children and families will come together several times throughout the year and work through specific sections together, sharing as a family and as a part of a community.
Throughout the year the children and their families are encouraged to participate in the Mass.
Please contact the Parish Office for further details or refer to the Parish Directory on this website for other contacts to get specific information.
WEDDINGS
These are celebrated by arrangement. Preparations for marriage, married life, and the marriage ceremony are offered, so we ask for at least 6 months notice.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Please contact our Parish Priest to request this sacrament. There are also several anointing Masses during weekends in the year.
